Preservation Department Graduate Intern

 Description: The Preservation Department Graduate Intern will take on special projects relating to the LPC Rules for proposed work at designated NYC Landmarks and buildings within designated historic districts. Tasks will include surveying completed projects, product and material research, creating presentation and educational materials and other general administrative duties.


 Minimum Qualification Requirement:  The candidate must be enrolled in a preservation-related graduate degree program.  Proof of enrollment will be required.


 Preferred Qualifications: The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented with good computer skills, will have either academic or professional experience with historic building alterations and an interest in architectural history, materials, and building features, and be able to work independently. Experience with GIS (ArcMap), Microsoft Access, photography preferred.

Hours: 35 hours per week, starting in June and ending in August, with possible part time hours during the school year.
