Natural and Cultural Data Coordinator

Harrisburg, PA

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) is seeking four full-time CRM Technicians to assist with a potential cultural resources project. This would be at least a one-year contract position based out of our Harrisburg office, and the work would consist of records management and curation. The position will require a bachelors degree in Museum Studies, Architectural History, Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate keen interest in records management and experience with digital and material resources curation and databases. 

The qualified candidate would assist JMT staff in the following:

  • Analyzing and repairing inconsistencies between digital and physical records
  • Conducting data entry
  • Using GIS software to map resources to an existing GIS
  • Updating a GIS database
  • Identifying, preparing, and scanning files
  • Refiling scanned files
  • Performing quality control at every stage in the project

Required Skills

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • strong work ethic and willingness to learn new tasks

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Museum Studies, Architectural History, Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field is required
  • Experience with GIS and database software preferred
  • Experience in CRM-based archaeological and architectural history records preferred
  • Knowledge of Section 106 and archaeological and architectural history compliance preferred
