The property care operations manager supports smooth, efficient, and cost effective management of all team functions, playing a key role in the preservation of the historic site collection through the implementation of several key program areas: the management of the carpentry crew; administration of the security program; and oversight of overall bidding and contract negotiation. Additional responsibilities include acting as the central point of contact to work with functions/events and vacant tenant apartments, and may periodically include direct management of maintenance at selected properties.


Qualifications  

Masters degree in historic preservation or a related field and at least six years of job-related experience; or Bachelors degree and a minimum of eight years of job-related experience; or ten years of job-related experience under the supervision of a preservation professional. Requires high level administrative skills and attention to detail.  Requires problem solving skills and ability to effectively plan and implement work processes to complete complex tasks according to schedule. Requires fully competent computer skills including skilled use of MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel spreadsheet functions, e-mail, and digital photography.Must be able to operate effectively in a team environment, where communication within and among the teams is essential to success.  Ability to interact diplomatically and communicate effectively orally and in writing is essential.Requires a valid drivers license and means of transportation.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  Experience with facility management, project management, HVAC, other mechanical systems, and security equipment desirable.Ability to troubleshoot and address minor maintenance issues.Previous staff management experience.
