The Louisiana Division of Historic Preservation preserves and protects Louisiana's significant historic buildings, sites, districts, and communities. The Division of Historic Preservation works together with the Louisiana Division of Archaeology to form the State Historic Preservation Office.

This position is located within the Historic Preservation Division within the Office of Cultural Development in Baton Rouge, LA and is in a Career Progression Group (CPG) to an Architectural Historian 2. The position may be filled as a 1 or 2 based on the qualifications of the selected applicant. 

DUTIES: Assists in implementing Louisiana R.S. 47:6019 and R.S. 47:297.6, which provide state tax credits for restoring historic buildings in designated downtown development districts and certified cultural districts. Recommends designation of historic status and reviews rehabilitation plans. Conducts site visits and reviews applications for the Federal Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credit program.
