Texas Conservation Corps

Texas Conservation Corps (TxCC) is a 21st Century Conservation Service Corps accredited program that empowers young people through AmeriCorps service, conservation, education, and jobs training. Participants engage in hands-on projects on public lands, coastal regions, and disaster areas. We recruit people who have a passion for the environment and working outdoors, and an interest in gaining new skill sets and experiences – no experience is required to join our program. Participants engage in hands-on projects on public lands, coastal regions, and disaster areas throughout the natural landscapes of Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.

San Antonio, TX

TxCCs Masonry and Environmental Conservation program is based in San Antonio and is an exciting opportunity to restore and preserve both interior and exterior surfaces of the Historic San Antonio Missions. These members work closely with NPS staff. With two AmeriCorps members in each of the following positions:

Cultural Landscape Positions- perform vegetation removal and general park maintenance

 Cultural Landscape AmeriCorps Members: 21-28
Term: January 2018 July 2018

Qualifications Must Have
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Between the ages of 18-28
  • US Citizenship or lawful permanent US Resident
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds repeatedly and use hand and power tools
  • Ability to pass a National Service Criminal History Check
  • Commitment to completing entire term of service
  • Strong service ethic and desire to serve the community and the environment
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people
