JOB SUMMARY:

Under direction, is responsible for performing professional work as part of a project team preparing and disseminating information to citizens, businesses, and City officials on upcoming or current street improvement projects. Exercises no supervision.

WORK LOCATION:  6939 W Loop 1604 N

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Conducts research, gathers information, and maintains an efficient system of immediately available data.
     

  • Serves as a liaison for citizens, businesses, and construction company representatives to inform and facilitate solutions to problems.
     

  • Prepares and distributes flyer's to citizens and businesses that will be impacted by project construction.
     

  • Attends all project related meetings, such as Pre-Bid, Pre-Construction and design team meetings.
     

  • Responds to citizen complaints and inquiries concerning capital and street maintenance projects.
     

  • Facilitates the design and installation of project signs.
     

  • Plans and prepares press releases and public service announcements.
     

  • Visits construction sites on a regular basis to monitor project progress.
     

  • Reviews contracts and construction schedules as they relate to phasing and the progress of the project.
     

  • Prepares detailed written reports on regular basis.
     

  • Compiles and maintains project information and data, including current project status and construction design.
     

  • Researches and recommends solutions to project related problems that may cause citizen inconvenience.
     

  • Plans, prepares, and conducts community meetings held during and after regular work hours.
     

  • Provides easily accessible information for use by the City Manager, City Council, or other interested parties through the use of electronic data processing equipment.
     

  • Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:
 
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.

  • Three (3) years of capital projects or construction related experience.

  • One (1) year of experience in public relations.

  • Valid Class 'C' Texas Driver's License.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with construction projects.

  • Experience in public speaking.
