The Restoration Architect /Architectural Conservator is a senior member of the BCA staff and reports to the Director of the BCA Philadelphia Office. Primary responsibilities are designing and managing complex restoration projects and reviewing project deliverables prepared by other members of the BCA staff. 

BCA offers a wide range of technical services related to the documentation, assessment, and conservation of historic buildings including: historical research, field investigations, conditions assessments, report writing, preparation of construction documents (drawings and specifications), and construction phase services. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience and expertise in the wide variety of skills necessary to perform our work. 

Candidates applying for this position should have a degree in architecture with a professional focus on the restoration of historic buildings (or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience) and a graduate degree in historic preservation with a concentration in materials conservation. Candidates must have at least 8-10 years of experience, including extensive experience with restoration detailing and construction administration. Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD is required. Proficiency in other graphic programs such as Adobe InDesign is also beneficial. Willingness to travel is essential, as much of the work of this BCA office is in Washington, DC and the southeast United States.
