RLA Conservation
Conservation of Art & Architecture

We are a team of professionally trained conservators and artisans specializing in the care of sculpture, historic architecture, and artifacts. Trained in the U.S., Latin America, and Europe, we provide emergency response services, conditions assessments, stabilization, conservation, maintenance, repair, restoration and long-term management of cultural heritage objects and structures. We have particular expertise in modern and contemporary art, monumental outdoor sculpture, Twentieth-century buildings, and Latin American art. All of our work adheres to the Code of Ethics and Guidelines for Practice of the American Institute for the Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works (AIC), the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties, and other applicable international charters. Locations Our two fully staffed studios—a 2,000 sq. ft. facility in Los Angeles and 3,700 sq. ft. warehouse in Miami—can accommodate multiple collections indoors and large scale sculptures. Both locations are insured and equipped with central station fire and alarm systems and security cameras. We work on-site projects throughout the United States, Latin America, Canada, and the Caribbean, and are particularly knowledgeable about the effects of tropical, marine and desert climates on collections. Because of our founder’s longstanding association with the art and preservation communities in Cuba, we are able to provide consulting services to international firms seeking to work on historic preservation projects in the Cuban market, as allowed by the United States Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
