Join Historic New Englands team of professionals caring for the preservation and maintenance of our historic house museum properties. The preservation manager position for Eustis and the South Region is responsible for the overall maintenance and preservation activities at Eustis Estate in Milton, Massachusetts, and a grouping of six additional properties located in Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. The preservation manager is the lead for developing and implementing the annual preservation work plan for those sites. This includes coordinating and performing maintenance activities as well as planning and implementing projects and capital improvements. This position will work within regional and institutional teams to coordinate activities around public hours at the museums, support programs at the sites, protect collections within the houses, and help raise funds to support the work plan. We are looking for applicants who can operate effectively both individually and in a team environment and are interested in joining an institution with a deep legacy of preservation practice.

Qualifications: A bachelors or masters degree in a related field and at least two years of experience. Requires fully competent computer skills including skilled use of MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel spreadsheet functions, e-mail, and digital photography.  Must be able to operate effectively both individually and in a team environment, where communication within and among the teams is essential to success. Requires problem solving skills and ability to effectively plan and implement work processes to complete tasks according to schedule. Requires a valid drivers license and means of transportation. Previous experience with facility management, project management, mechanical systems, security equipment, or hands on repairs and maintenance is desirable but we will have an internal training program to give you the tools you need to succeed.
