Mead & Hunt, Inc., a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, is seeking a highly motivated cultural resource specialist. Responsibilities include conducting Section 106 compliance tasks for historic and architectural properties; identifying and evaluating historic resources; conducting research and site visits; preparing reports including historic contexts, property descriptions, and National Register evaluations; and working with clients and project managers. Travel will be required.

 

The successful candidate must have a bachelors or masters degree in historic preservation or related field such as history, architectural history, or public history from an accredited four-year college or university.

 

The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following: completing cultural resource management activities for Section 106 compliance projects; prior compliance work for transportation projects; preparing building descriptions, historic contexts, and/or statements of significance; conducting research and field surveys; applying the National Register Criteria.  A masters degree in historic preservation and 18 months of relevant experience are also ideal.
