The City of Santa Fe has an immediate opening for a Senior Planner in the Historic Preservation Division of the Land Use Department. Provides development review, project evaluation, and case planning involving complex physical design, land use planning, and regulation at an advanced professional level. Position requires knowledge of historic preservation principles and practice, knowledge of historic architectural styles and building traditions unique to Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico, administration of the local historic preservation overlay zoning ordinance governing five historic districts, administration of the local archaeological review overlay ordinance for the entire city, and assistance with long range planning for historic preservation.

Qualified candidates possess either a Bachelor's degree in urban planning, historic preservation, archaeology, architecture, landscape architecture, geography, or related fields AND four years of progressively responsible professional experience in land use planning for a local government of which one year consists of work specific to historic preservation, OR a Master's degree in urban planning, archaeology, historic preservation, architecture, landscape architecture, geography or related fields AND two years or progressively responsible professional experience in land use planning for a local government of which one year consists of work specific to historic preservation, OR eight years of progressively responsible professional experience in land use planning for a local government of which two years consists of work specific to historic preservation.
