Logan Simpson, a growing environmental planning and design firm, with unique and exciting projects, currently seeks an entry-to-mid levelArchitectural Historianto work in either our Tucson or Tempe, Arizona offices.

Duties and responsibilities include conducting and assisting with historic preservation and other cultural resources fieldwork, including documentation of historic buildings and structures; conducting historical background research; and assisting with report and other document production, such as preparation of Arizona State Historic Property Inventory Forms. Candidates should have demonstrable experience in conducting archival research, building and/or cultural landscape inventories, and reporting. This position requires the individual to work well in a team-oriented setting, and have the ability to travel for fieldwork on a regular basis.

Preferred skills include, experience with preparing National Register of Historic Places nominations, conducting Historic American Building Survey and Historic American Engineering Record documentation, and National Historic Trails inventories.

Requirements include:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in History, Architectural History, Historic Preservation or Public History;
  • Familiarity with architectural terms and styles typical to the Western United States;
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Experience conducting research using archival resources, both online and in person.

Logan Simpsonoffers a comprehensive benefit package, with a salary range of $39,520 $49,920.00.
