Richard Grubb & Associates, Inc. (RGA) is seeking a motivated and talented Architectural Historian to be based out of its Cranbury, New Jersey or Philadelphia, Pennsylvania office. This position will be based remotely at this time due to COVID-19. However, applicants should be available to travel to project sites in the NJ/PA area as necessary for site visits and fieldwork duties. The applicant must meet the qualifications set forth in the Secretary of the Interiors Standards for Architectural Historians/Historians (36CFR61), have a Masters Degree in History, Architectural History, Historic Preservation or closely related field. Experience with federal and state cultural resource management regulations, including a good working knowledge of NEPA and Section 106 is preferred but not required. Responsibilities include research in support of historical, historic architectural and archaeological investigations, and technical report writing. Familiarity with the regional history, culture and built environment of the Mid-Atlantic is desirable. Required are the abilities to conduct intensive archival research including title searches, to utilize online research tools, and to write clear, cogent, and thorough historic contexts. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong organizational skills, have the ability to manage priorities, and to meet project deadlines and budgets. Experience with historic architectural survey would also be advantageous. Prior work experience in the mid-Atlantic preferred but not required
This full-time position includes a competitive pay and benefits package. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications. Average salary range for this position is $35,000 - $50,000 and dependent upon experience and qualifications.
