In 2013, the 1772 Foundation, in cooperation with the New Jersey Historic Trust, is offering Capital Preservation Grants, up to $15,000, available to nonprofit organizations for repair and restoration projects.  The grants require a one-to-one match from the grant recipient.  Eligible activities include:  exterior painting, surface restoration and finishes; installation or upgrade of security, lighting and fire detection systems, repair and restoration of windows, porches, and roofs; structural sill repairs or replacement; sill repair/replacement, and chimney re-pointing.  Eligible applicants must have a 501(c)3 IRS designation.  Schools and religious congregations are not eligible to apply.

Applications are due May 1, 2013.  Recommended grants will be considered at the 1772 Foundation July board meeting.  Applications should be submitted to njht@dca.state.nj.us and use "1772 Foundation" in the subject line.  Call the Historic Trust staff at 609-984-0473 for more information.  Visit http://www.njht.org/dca/njht/programs/1772/ for an application.
