The Boston Architectural College, in partnership with the Calvert Vaux Preservation Alliance and New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, is offering two courses this summer at the Hoyt House (The Point), a Calvert Vaux designed Gilded Age Mansion in Staatsburg, NY. These courses will be offered partially online with a 10-day residency period in Staatsburg from June 16-25 where students will use Hoyt House as a field school site. The courses are eligible for three (3) credits of graduate or undergraduate credit hours each.
HSP 2013 Heritage Documentation* and/or
HSP 2016 New York State History: Architecture and Society*
Note: Included in this experience are trips to other historic architectural
sites in the Hudson River Valley region and a day trip to New York City.
*Participants can opt to take one or both courses.
BAC Summer Registration: February 27, 2017
BAC Summer Term: June 5-July 29, 2017
Residency Period: June 16-25
Housing will be provided by the Culinary Institute of America in nearby Hyde Park. In addition to the course tuition, there will be an additional fee of $700-$900 to cover housing and other course related travel.
