Established in 1855, the southern Indiana hotel became one of America's premier watering-hole grand resorts in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Closed in the depths of the Great Depression and surviving reuse as educational institutions and later ruinous deterioration, the extraordinary domed hotel--once the largest dome in the world--has been beautifully restored and again operates as a grand resort.
