The Alliance for Historic Landscape Preservation announces the availability of Student Scholarships for its annual conference in Calgary, Alberta, Canada May 25-27, 2017.
Big Sky / Big Landscape / Big Ideas
The 39th annual gathering of the Alliance for Historic Landscape Preservation will provide a venue for lively discussions about cultural landscapes and their conservation. The conference location — Canada’s third largest city — is an urban landscape enveloped in Alberta’s Big Sky Country, where grain elevators and oil pumps are silhouetted against the Canadian Rockies, birthplace of Canada’s National Park System. Students are especially encouraged to submit presentation proposals that explore issues relating to river landscapes, First Nations, archaeology, recreation, tourism, agriculture, industry, and natural resource extraction.
Up to two scholarships are available to assist students in attending and presenting research at the 2017 Annual Conference in Calgary
One student will be selected to present his or her studies in cultural landscape conservation as part of the conference paper sessions.
One student will be selected to present his or her studies as a poster during the poster sessions of the conference program.
The total value of each scholarship includes a
