With over 60 episodes and nearly 40 hours of content, PreserveCast, the weekly podcast powered by Preservation Maryland now has its own home on the web at: preservecast.org.
Preservation Maryland made the strategic decision to launch PreserveCast as a component of a broader content-driven communications strategy to fulfill a major tenant of our mission: outreach. The explosive growth of podcasts and the younger trending audience of listeners made PreserveCast a major opportunity for Preservation Maryland to give voice to historic preservation on a whole new medium.
In its first year, PreserveCast was downloaded over 10,000 times, quickly making it the most-listened to preservation podcast. In early 2018, the Maryland Historical Trust honored the podcast with their prestigious award for Excellence in Media & Publications. Each episode is hosted by Preservation Marylandís Executive Director, Nicholas Redding, who interviews a professional about their work ó with a specific focus on the intersection of preservation and technology.
The new website provides quick access to all of our episodes with out any additional accounts or software and provides a transcript to each episode making the podcast fully accessible. New episodes are available every Monday via iTunes, GooglePlay and now online at: preservecast.org.
